1. INTRODUCTION
This introduction to GIS (Geographic Information System) mapping and digital cartography will help you learn the basics, begin to feel comfortable with GIS technology and to become familiar with some of the jargon. If, after going through this tutorial, you wish to go further with GIS, I have some recommendations for you at the end of this document.
The tutorial is broken up into 7 sections. There are links across the top of each section that serve as an interactive table of contents and there is a link to the next section at the bottom of each page.
If you are interested in degree and certificate programs, check out Online GIS (Geographic Information System) Education Resources - Distance Learning for Bachelors, Masters, Certificates.
If there is anything that I can do to help, any questions that I can answer, anything that I should do to make this tutorial more clear, more comprehensive, please email me at [email protected] and let me know. I would also love to hear about your GIS projects. I hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks and Best Regards,
